EDUCAST, The Australian Government has announced a new ministerial direction (Ministerial Direction 115) aimed at ensuring a fair and balanced distribution of international students across education providers in both metropolitan and regional areas.

According to The Hon. Julian Hill MP, Assistant Minister for International Education, the new direction focuses on maintaining the quality, integrity, and sustainability of Australia’s international education system.

Under this new policy, visa processing priorities will be distributed more equitably among education providers, giving regional and vocational institutions a better opportunity to attract international students.

The new directive will come into effect from 14 November 2025. Information sessions with education providers will be held in November and December to explain its implementation.

This new initiative is expected to provide broader choices and opportunities for aspiring Nepali students considering study in Australia.
