The Educational Professional Consultancy Association of Nepal (EPCAN) successfully conducted its 3rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 23rd August 2025 at Alice Reception, Kathmandu, bringing together key industry leaders, education consultants, and international representatives. The event was coordinated by Executive Member Naresh Prasad Sendai, ensuring a smooth and professional flow of the program.
The AGM began with an opening session highlighting EPCAN’s achievements and future objectives. Hemanta Raj Dulal, Vice President of EPCAN, delivered an insightful presentation on the association’s horizon and upcoming development initiatives. He stressed the need for ethical practices, transparency, and collaboration to strengthen Nepal’s education consultancy sector and better serve students aspiring to study abroad.
A major highlight of the event was the presence of Shaurab Lohani, Trine University Nepal Representative, as a distinguished guest. He provided valuable insights into educational pathways in the United States, particularly opportunities at Trine University. Lohani discussed about the importance of Educational Consultancies in Higher education journey.
Adding to the global perspective, Deepshni Khadgi, Senior Executive – Business Development at IDP IELTS, spoke about the significance of English language proficiency and proper test preparation for students targeting international destinations. She emphasized that authentic counseling and recognized test systems like IELTS play a key role in ensuring students’ success abroad.
Binod Shrestha, NRNA ICC Vice President (IES) and CEO of Fusion College of Technology, focused on the role of the Non-Resident Nepali community in supporting educational migration. He elaborated on how global networks can help Nepali students not just academically but also professionally, creating pathways for career development.
Representing the Australian education sector, Rohit Khadka, Marketing & Student Recruitment Manager at Australian International Institute of Higher Education (AIIHE), shared opportunities in Australia and discussed emerging trends such as post-study work rights and the strong support system provided by the Nepali diaspora.
The AGM also welcomed influential leaders from major education-related associations:
Mahesh Kumar Shrestha, 1st Vice-President of JAJSAN (Japanese Language Association in Nepal), discussed growing opportunities in Japan and the importance of language training.
Kishor Tiwari, President of AECAN, expressed solidarity with EPCAN and highlighted the benefits of joint initiatives.
Buddhi Sagar Aryal, Vice President of AAERI Nepal, stressed on maintaining transparency and ethical recruitment practices.
Hemanta Bhattarai, President of IERIN, spoke about the need for unified advocacy among consultancy bodies.
Bishnu Khadka, President of KECAN, outlined initiatives to standardize consultancy operations.
Seshraj Bhattarai, President of ECAN, sent his best wishes for EPCAN’s success, while Suprabhat Bhandari, President of the Nepal Parents Association, commended EPCAN’s efforts to ensure student safety and trust. Rajendra Baral, President of FECE-Nepal, pledged continued collaboration.
Concluding the event, EPCAN President Mr. Prajyol Basnet thanked all dignitaries and members for their contributions. He reaffirmed EPCAN’s commitment to ethical standards, student-centric services, and innovative practices. The AGM also marked the formation of EPCAN’s new executive committee, setting the stage for a dynamic future.
The 3rd AGM concluded on a positive note, symbolizing unity, progress, and a shared vision for strengthening Nepal’s education consultancy sector.
