Israeli Embassy Celebrates 78th Independence Day in Kathmandu

    EDUCAST, The Embassy of Israel in Nepal hosted a special reception to celebrate the 78th Independence Day of the State of Israel. The diplomatic event brought together high-ranking government officials, political figures, diplomats, media representatives, and key friends of Israel. The Right Honorable Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Vice President of Nepal, attended the function as the Chief Guest.

    Welcoming the attendees, the Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, Shmulik Arie Bass, emphasized the deep-rooted relationship between the two nations:

    This occasion is not only a celebration of Israel’s national journey, but also a celebration of friendship, partnership, and shared aspirations between our two countries. From its earliest days, Israel has learned to transform limitation into innovation. This spirit of innovation has special meaning for Nepal.”

    Ambassador Bass further noted that Israel is fully prepared to share its expertise in water management, digital development, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and youth employment to align with the developmental priorities of Nepal’s new government.

    Highlights of the Event:

    • Cultural Program: Renowned Israeli musician Mr. Alex Pollack performed a live musical set for the guests, followed by a ceremonial toast to honor Israel’s 78 years of independence.

    • Showcase of Global Innovation: An AI-generated video showcased iconic Israeli contributions to global technology, featuring breakthrough innovations like Viber, the USB flash drive, drip irrigation, Waze, ICQ, Fiverr, advanced desalination, ReWalk (wearable robotics), PillCam, CheckPoint, multiple sclerosis healthcare research, and the cloud security company Wiz (recently acquired for US$ 32 billion).

    • Nepal-Israel Ties: A second video highlighted the stories of three Nepali individuals whose lives and careers were transformed through Israeli programs, specifically MASHAV training, the caregiving sector, and the “Learn and Earn” agricultural program.

    • Resilience Under Pressure: A final screening portrayed Israel’s continued resilience, internal unity, and collective determination through ongoing challenges.

    The celebration concluded with a networking reception focused on strengthening future cooperation and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
