Strategic Workshop Highlights Canada Education Opportunities for Nepalese Students

    EDUCAST, A high-level strategic workshop focused on “Study in Canada” was successfully held at Hotel Yak & Yeti, Kathmandu, bringing together around 40 leading educational consultancies from across Nepal. The event, organized from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, served as an important platform to discuss the evolving Canadian education landscape and its implications for Nepalese students.

    The session was led by Mr. Stanislav Gnatkov, Regional Manager – South Asia & Europe at Centennial College, Mr. Ian MacRae, Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships at BorderPass, and Mr. Bipin Nalenda, Manager – Recruitment and Partner Relations (South Asia) at Centennial College.

    In his remarks, Mr. Gnatkov highlighted that Canada continues to remain a top destination for international students due to its quality education, diversity, and strong career pathways. He noted that recent policy shifts and increased scrutiny require students and partners to be more informed, responsible, and strategic in their approach. He further highlighted that students today are increasingly focused on key factors such as college location, quality of facilities, strong career outcomes, and the level of trust established among Nepalese students when choosing their study destination.

    Mr. Ian MacRae emphasized that the international education sector is undergoing significant transformation, driven by regulatory changes and global mobility trends. He stated that institutions and recruitment partners must adapt to these realities by prioritizing transparency, compliance, and student success outcomes. He further underlined the role of digital innovation and trusted partnerships in shaping the future of global student mobility, while also highlighting that BorderPass services are playing a crucial role in simplifying application processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and improving overall efficiency for both students and recruitment partners.

    Similarly, Mr. Bipin Nalenda shared insights on Centennial College’s commitment to supporting students through quality programs and strong industry connections. He expressed that Nepal continues to be a key market and highlighted the importance of ethical recruitment practices and accurate student counseling in ensuring long-term success.

    The workshop also addressed key challenges, including visa trends, policy updates, and the need for realistic student expectations. Participants actively engaged in discussions, making the session highly interactive and informative.

    Overall, the event was well-received by attendees, who appreciated the practical insights and strategic guidance provided. The workshop reaffirmed the importance of collaboration between institutions and recruitment partners in navigating the changing dynamics of international education.
