Nepal Airlines’ narrow body aircraft to arrive on Monday: Minister Tamang

    EDUCAST, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Hit Bahadur Tamang, has informed that the Nepal Airlines Corporation’s narrow body aircraft, after undergoing maintenance in Israel, will arrive at Kathmandu Airport on Monday.

    Speaking at a discussion program with journalists on Sunday Tourism, Minister Tamang stated that the Nepal Airlines Corporation’s narrow body aircraft, which has been undergoing engine maintenance in Israel, will arrive at Kathmandu Airport on Monday.

    He provided information about the aircraft’s engine issues and acknowledged the significant losses incurred by the Corporation due to prolonged grounding.

    Minister Tamang expressed confidence that the problems encountered by the aircraft would be resolved after maintenance, and emphasized his belief in immediately bringing the aircraft into operation upon his appointment as minister.

    He also mentioned plans to develop a program allowing Nepali airlines to fly directly in European Union (EU) airspace, highlighting the need for dialogue with relevant authorities and experts to formulate such a plan.

    Minister Tamang expressed his belief that any country’s aircraft should be able to operate in Nepali airspace, stressing the need for discussions with relevant agencies and experts to develop the plan.

    He informed that the government has planned to observe May 29 as the 17th International Sagarmatha Day in the presence of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal at the base of Sagarmatha.

    Although preparations were made to celebrate the Prime Minister’s presence in the past, Minister Tamang explained that this year’s participation could not be confirmed due to budget constraints, leading to the decision to hold the event on June 6.
