Anil Pokharel elected as the President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) in Australia

    EDUCAST,  Anil Pokharel has been elected as the President of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) in Australia. He secured 5,267 votes, defeating Dev Gurung and Dila Kharel. The election took place with the participation of 12,617 out of 14,562 eligible voters across Australia.

    Anil Pokharel served as the Treasurer in the previous term. After his election, he expressed his commitment to work tirelessly for the welfare of Nepalis in Australia.

    The election commission’s details show that Santosh Kunwar was elected as the General Secretary. Thir Gurung as Secretary, Arjun Gautam as Treasurer, Roji Pant as Deputy Treasurer, Suman Bohara as Youth Coordinator, and Deeman Rajopadhyay as Deputy Youth Coordinator were also elected.

    In the election for the Women’s Association “Nari Nikunj,” Sangita Bhandari Chapagai was elected as Coordinator, and Ratna Gautam was elected as Deputy Coordinator. Archana Gautam was elected as the Secretary, and Manila Pandey was unopposed for the Treasurer’s position.

    Eight members were elected to the International Coordination Committee (ICC) through the election process. Bharat Raj Paudel, Sujan Adhikari, Diliram Dhakal, Dinesh Adhikari, Madan Paudel, Narayan Katuwal, Ramesh Adhikari, and Tikaram Bhurtel successfully became ICC members. Chief Election Commissioner Tonu Ghotane highlighted that the election was impartial and conducted in a friendly manner.
