Machhapuchchhre IB World School Celebrates 213th Bhanu Jayanti

KATHMANDU: Machhapuchchhre IB World School vibrantly celebrated the 213th birth anniversary of the pioneering Nepali poet, Bhanubhakta Acharya, organizing a special literary event on the school premises.

The program commenced with the formal offering of flowers and a traditional puja dedicated to the portrait of Bhanubhakta Acharya, led by the Chairman and CEO of the school, Dr. Binod Prasad Yadav. Following the ritual, Dr. Yadav delivered a warm welcome speech, highlighting the profound impact of Bhanubhakta’s work on Nepali literature and national identity.

The event witnessed active participation from the Principal, Mr. Hom Nath Acharya, alongside members of the school management, faculty, and the student body.

Renowned literary figure Dr. Dhruba Prasad Sharma graced the event as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sharma spoke passionately about Bhanubhakta’s monumental contributions to unifying the Nepali language through literature. In an engaging interactive session, Dr. Sharma recited some of Bhanubhakta’s iconic poems line by line, which were enthusiastically repeated in unison by the students.

The celebration concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Sumitra Sapkota, Head of the Nepali Department, who expressed her gratitude to the guests, management, and students for making the literary tribute a grand success.
