Students to Perform Nepali Play ‘Dantko Dob’ on March 30

    EDUCAST, A stage performance of the Nepali play Dantko Dob will be presented by students of Machhapuchhre Ivy World School on March 30 in Kathmandu. The play will be staged at Kantipur Film Academy in Gauridhara.

    The play is written by renowned Nepali playwright Khagendra Lamichhane and directed by theatre director Bibek Neupane. According to the organizers, the drama aims to artistically present sensitive social themes and highlight the complexities of human emotions, pain, and relationships.

    Around 40 student performers from different grade levels at Machhapuchhre Ivy World School will take part in the production. The play is expected to showcase the creative talents of the students while offering audiences a meaningful theatrical experience.

    School Principal Hom Nath Acharya said the event is part of the school’s broader commitment to the holistic development of students. He emphasized that participation in arts, drama, and cultural activities helps students build confidence, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills alongside their academic learning.

    “Education is not limited to textbooks. Activities such as theatre and performing arts play a vital role in shaping students’ personalities and nurturing their creativity. Through such programs, we encourage students to express themselves, develop critical thinking, and gain real-life learning experiences,” Acharya said.

    He further added that the school regularly organizes cultural and creative programs to promote artistic expression and strengthen students’ overall personal development. The production of Dantko Dob is also intended to inspire students to appreciate Nepali literature and theatre while learning the value of collaboration and discipline.
